2025 Ministry Ethics Conference
Thriving congregations demonstrate health in behavior towards each other and as a group. Vitality is seen not just in WHAT is done but also in HOW ministry is done. As sister churches of Mission Northwest, our goal is to foster an atmosphere in and among our congregations where people can hear the Good News of Jesus in part because the Lord’s people practice their faith in ethical ways. To meet that goal, Mission Northwest regularly offers a ministry ethics conference that covers the main ethical contours of ministry.
Who: This training is intended for all pastoral and volunteer leadership of congregations. It is open to everyone within the congregation. Completion of the training is a requirement for ordination. The training also meets insurance companies’ directives that all church volunteers and staff receive boundaries training. (Note: The training consists of two parts over the course of four days total.)
What: Five key areas of transformed behavior patterns within the congregation will be presented: sexual boundaries, financial integrity, electronic communications/social media, safety for vulnerable people, and boundaries of the pastoral role. Those who are elected church leaders will also gain insights into how to create healthy ministry boundaries within the congregation.
The $25 Registration Fee includes all materials and your continuing education certificate (upon completion of the conference).
Registration deadline: January 20, 2025
Materials will be emailed to you on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
